      How to Become a Member

 Members pay a small subscription of £4.50 per week, and in return can choose groceries that are worth £20 to £30 at retail prices.  The pantry will look like any other small local grocery store with items that can be chosen from the shelves.  The pantry will use a simple colour coding system.

Membership is open to anyone who lives in the Aylesham and the surrounding rural area, who are having difficulty making ends meet. There is no requirement to be referred by a professional or other third party. Membership is not time-limited, and members can choose to come every week or occasionally,  for as long as they want.

What is a Social Pantry

Pantries stock a wide range of top-quality produce including fresh fruit and veg, frozen and chilled food, household items, long-life tinned and packaged food. They are designed to supplement, rather than fully replace a household’s regular food shop. Based on a membership model, for a weekly subscription, members receive a minimum of ten items. Pantries have been set up to support people to access good quality, affordable food. It’s a food club that helps stretch the weekly budget. The Pantry is run by Bechange in partnership with the Aylesham and Community Development Workshop Trust. We have signed up to, and we are using the “Your Pantry” franchise, who have supported many social pantries up across the UK .
More than 90,000 peoples lives have been improved through Your Local Pantry membership over the past decade

How you can get involved and help your Local Pantry

 Keeping our pantry shelves stocked is one of our biggest challenges, with many people struggling with the increased cost of living, we have a high demand for our services

How you can help as an individual or household:

You can donate by visiting one of our donation stations located at:

  3. CO-OP Aylesham, Market Square
  4. Londis – Cornwallis Avenue,Aylesham
  •  Or make a financial donation either as a one off or a regular payment.
