Bechange work in partnership with Deal Area Foodbank to assist people with food and other household items when they are in financial crisis.

The foodbank can provide three days nutritiously balanced food for your family.

You are not alone

If you are struggling, please contact us, either by telephone or calling into our hub, to talk confidentially to a member of our support team.

We may be able to issue you with a voucher and offer other support.

What happens next

When we have issued you with a voucher, you can visit the Community Matters mobile foodbank, which comes to Bechange twice a week and Elvington Community Centre once a week.

Volunteers from the foodbank will meet you at the van and help you select food including non-perishable, frozen and fresh as well as household items.

How can you help ?

Donate products quickly and easily

You can help us by donating sanitary products directly to us so that we can pass on to women and girls that may be struggling to purchase these items.

You can drop these off at our reception or with any one of our staff members.

We require a variety of sanitary pads and tampons, we want women and girls to have a choice like they would if they could afford products.

Please note we can only accept products that are in packets.

Tampons have a lifespan of 5 years, but a wrapped tampon after its expiry date has passed looks the same as one bought more recently.

Tampons can be susceptible to infection and mould and can cause infection and in serious cases, onset of Toxic Shock Syndrome.

Thank you for helping us to support women and girls who do not have access to sanitary products.

Period Products – pink bag scheme

We believe all women should have access to period product during their period. We know that girls and women often struggle to afford sanitary products. We have period products in discreet small pink and white striped bags in the hub, please help yourself if you need these.  You can also ask at our reception or any of our staff, just mention that you would like pink bag and you will be passed some products.

Make a monetary donation online

If you prefer, you can make a monetary donation.

We purchase sanitary product through UK charity in-kind direct and this enables us to get good value for money and make your donation go further.

Don’t forget, if you are making a financial donation and you are a UK tax payer, we can reclaim 25% of your donation at no extra cost to you.

Pink Bag Scheme

It is estimated that women will spend as much as £5000 on sanitary products in their lifetime. As household bills continue to rise, we expect to see more and more women facing choses like whether to put food the on the table or purchase sanitary products.
